KNOW YOUR ENEMY

After reading the posts below about Ruger and the gun turn-in question, I thought it might be helpful to discuss tactics---from the enemy's point of view. I am heartened by the response of so many that are willing to stand and fight, whether alone or in small units employing guerilla tactics. I hate to be the one to tell you this, but IMHO, it ain't gonna happen. If you'll just bear with me, I'll tell you why.

In the post about Ruger, we are all ticked off that Ruger would sell out, wimp out, and generally break ranks to fall in line with the Clinton's desire to grab guns. I ask you, what did you expect? Good old Bill whole-heartedly backed the ban on hi-cap mags and he laughed all the way to the bank because we continued to buy his products anyway! He knew what Clinton knows: he may piss off a few people, but by and large, most won't change anything they now do. That attitude is even reflected in Dakota's post, "There's no reason to drop them like a bad habit". (No intent to burn you here, Dakota, but just illustrate a point. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.) The same is true of Colt. They have reorganized their entire line---no change in buyers' attitudes. UPS changes shipping policy on handguns costing us more money---they don't lose any business at all. The point is this----we gun owners and advocates of freedom are worlds apart when it comes to organization and unity----and Clinton, HCI, Charles Schumer, et al know it all too well.

That fact, the fact that we gun owners, desirous of freedom and liberty from government control and infringement in our lives, are not organized or unified, is what dictates the tactics of our enemy. He has learned this in all of our initial engagements: the GCA of 1968, the SAW ban, hi-cap mag ban, Waco, Ruby Ridge, the Brady Bill, NICS. We have LOST all of these initial engagements. Our enemy is smart. He has great intelligence. He monitors our comm nets (phone, e-mail, bulletin boards, etc), he infiltrates our meetings and groups, he uses propaganda to his advantage by painting his opponents as ill-informed, right-wing, gun-nuts, terrorists, militia, and SURVIVALISTS. All of these terms have come to have negative connotations to the millions who could possibly oppose our enemy, thereby creating doubt in their minds as to the truthfulness of our arguments against the enemy.

Our enemy has shown that he is strong and able to make war. He has instilled fear in his opponents by such acts as Ruby Ridge and Waco. P2's post under "Gun Control" is right on target. Our enemy has instilled fear by showing that he has no hesitation about taking out FIRST those that we consider near and dear to us. Are you truly ready to see your wife's brains splattered around the room? The enemy knows that you will confront that question at the moment of truth with hesitation, and he will use your hesitation as the opportunity to pull the trigger---and he will not hesitate.

He has further demonstrated his power to destroy by teaming together two forces that used to be separate servants of the people: the military and "Law Enforcement". Does anyone remember when "Law Enforcement" used to be public servants of the people? No longer---they have become the LOCAL enforcement arm of our enemy; a paramilitary organization, and here's the great part, paid for with our tax dollars! When events transcend the ability of the enemy's local enforcement arm to handle it, they are melted together with the military, who regularly trains in our cities to counter "urban terrorism".

The enemy has created a "drug war" which has no body count, causes no casualties, and takes no prisoners, but expends great amounts of resources to carry on the "war". To facilitate this "war", it has been necessary for Americans to endure the suspension of certain rights as citizens. By our willing silence, we have given tacit approval to the enemy's tactics of unreasonable search and seizure; no knock, dynamic entry; SWAT teams outfitted in military gear and trained in military tactics to military standards, police profiling and driver check points. We lost that engagement too.

Our enemy is exceedingly patient and as I said, smart. He has seen the lack of unified opposition in ALL of the initial engagements and battles that have been fought. Oh, there were no shots fired, but they were battles nonetheless. The enemy saw that the opposition was pitifully small, weak and disorganized. The enemy wants to keep it that way! That is why there will be no opportunity to stand your ground in defiance, burning the barrel of your AK up in automatic fire at the hoards of black-suited, jack-booted thugs. The enemy knows that to do so would create a show down which he could not win, simply because of the logistics. There are simply too many gun-owning Americans and not enough of the enemy to go around for them to come after them at one time. To make a concerted, all out grab would also serve to galvanize the gun-nuts into action. This would cause massive amounts of money, materiel and personnel to be expended by the enemy and possibly swing the populace over to the gun-nuts side. Then again there is the logistical problem. So, what to do?

The enemy's answer is to come after them INCREMENTALLY. Since he has seen that we lack the desire, initiative and organization to oppose him, he will attack us using propaganda, legislation, and monetary pressure. The propaganda will keep the populace duped into silence and apathy, while further galvanizing the populace into believing that guns and the people that own them, are the cause for all problems. Since there is no concerted effort or unity on the part of gun owners, increased legislation will not be a problem. Further bans on sales, purchases, concealed carry, gun parts, ammunition, ammunition components and gun shows as well as increased licensing, permits, background checks and registration will incrementally render any firearms we have as useless. No you say? You may hide that AR and refuse to register it, but are you going to use it? Are you going to risk being the isolated "gun-nut" who as the 6 o'clock spin says, "attacked police with an unregistered automatic weapon. The suspect killed his wife and then committed suicide." It won't matter that you were holding an AR and she was shot in the head with a .308. You'll be just as dead and used as propaganda to make the enemy's position for gun control even stronger----just like the countless school kids across the country have been used.

It's going to happen incrementally. CEO's of the gun companies will toe the line and sell what is government approved so they can preserve their jobs and the stockholders can profit---it's already happening. Laws will be enacted without regard to legality or individual rights. That, too, is already happening Federally and in several states. Those states, companies or citizens that try to resist will be punished. It won't be hard to do---propaganda, the right spin, and fiduciary pressure can accomplish wonders, as can tax audits, property seizures, asset forfeiture and tax liens.

I think you get the point. The enemy is smart and patient. It has taken him well over thirty years to get to this point. His public education system is beginning to pay off---most young people today have no inkling of what this country is about, let alone their rights and liberties as citizens. Americans, for the most part, have lost the ability to read and think critically, depending instead on Tom Brokaw, Peter Jennings, Dan Rather, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and countless politicians to tell them what to think, what to do, and how to respond. They have become completely dependent on the government for their very existence, even down to their next meal in some cases. All of this is to the enemy's advantage. But the greatest advantage the enemy has is the lack of unity and organization among gun owners. Unless we change that fact, it will be our downfall. I read somewhere that there were 14 million deer licenses sold in 1999---14 million! I read in Guns and Ammo that there are 67 million gun owners in America. I wonder how many belong to the NRA, GOA, the Madison Society or others? What do you think would happen if 67 million gun owners refused to buy another Ruger firearm, no matter how good and wrote telling them so? What do you think would happen if every dealer in America never ordered another Ruger or Colt firearm and sent back the ones in transit? What do you think would happen if the poll driven vote whores of Washington and each state government got 67 million e-mails every day about gun control, registration, SAW bans, etc?

It can happen if we organize, come together for one common cause, which is to preserve our liberties as citizens of this country, and fight with one voice. Let's be honest for a moment. If we were going to fight gun confiscation with bullets we would all be in California right now firing up every state rep and senator that voted for gun control and registration. I mean, after all, what more does it take? Registration, confiscation---it's there, right now.

I can't tell you what to do and I wouldn't even try to. But I will set an example. As I posted below, I have once again joined the NRA and joined GOA. I also signed up and paid the dues in the NRA for a shooting buddy of mine. We have accomplished quite a lot as Rubicon Team members. There is more we can do. We can send millions of e-mails in one voice through the NRA and other organizations. We can also change those organizations to reflect our views, if there are enough of us. Don't want to pay $35? [Patriot Mike Dillon is deceased...Mike Dillon of Dillon Precision will pay $10 of the $35 first year's dues for you to join the NRA and give you a $10 credit toward your first $100 purchase. Don't want to buy anything from Dillon---no problem---no purchase required; he'll still pay the $10.]

P2 has made a great offer, but I won't do that to a team member---I help at no charge. Take Dillon's money instead. Let's join together---join the NRA and tell the vote whores no more---it stops NOW! If they don't listen, I'll join you on the wall---I've got plenty of loaded mags for everybody.
